Australia- the land down under has long
opened its doors to migrant workers to address their problem of labor shortage
and their aging population demands the hiring of foreign healthcare
professionals. Filipino nurses are in luck because they are preferred by Australian
employers.
In fact a
recruitment agency that is licensed by the Philippine Overseas Employment
Administration (POEA) posted an advertisement at WorkAbroad.ph for 100 registered
nurses.
According
to the job advertisement, nursing opportunities are available throughout Australia for
suitably experienced and qualified Registered Filipino Nurses. Nurses
interested in pursuing a career in Australia will need to meet the
criteria as laid out by the Nursing Boards of Australia.
Interested
applicants may submit their comprehensive resume and they will be advised by
the agency regarding their chances of meeting the requirements of obtaining
"Australian Registered Nurse" status.
The following requirements are
absolutely necessary:
IELTS English proficiency of
7 in all 4 modules
Last 3 years of work
experience must be in a Modern Hospital, such as: Asian Hospital, Manila
Doctors, St. Lukes, Makati Medical in the Philippines / Sinpapore
Hospitals / King Fahd Hospital in KSA etc, etc.
The Nursing Boards of Australia will
assess your application and provide registration as either RN or EN.
RN = Registered Nurse ( your
assessment passed all the requirements )
EN = Enrolled Nurse ( your
assessment did not pass all the requirements and supervised practice in an
approved Hospital for between 3 and 12 months )
