To give employment and training opportunities to registered nurses and midwives, the application for the 4th batch of the government program, Registered Nurses for Health Enhancement and Local Service (RN-Heals) will happen on October 29 to November 29, 2012.

Under this program, selected nurses and midwives would be deployed in rural communities where quality health care is lacking. The deployment period would be from six to twelve months wherein the medical professionals would receive a cash allowance.

The RN-Heals program is expected to benefit both the nurses, midwives and the government. It would give the nurses and midwives the training and experience they need to be qualified for overseas job post and it would help the government solve the problem of unavailable and insufficient and healthcare services in the barrios or far-flung areas.

Reports said that the 4thn batch of RN-Heals would deploy 225,000 nurses and midwives. To give fair chance to all, the DOH discouraged participants of the RN Heals 1-3 from sending application.
