Employment Administration (POEA) has asked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ministry to delay the imple4mentation of the new test scheme for foreign nurses
who will work in the Arab country.
On November 29-30, 95,282
nursing students will take the nursing board exam, the examination that will
give them the license to practice their profession and to finally reach their
chosen goals, in case they pass.
The Department of
Labor and employment recently announced the deployment of 50 nurses to Ondoy-affected
areas in Metro Manila such as Marikina, Pasig, Navotas, Pateros, Taguig, Caloocan,
Malabon, Navotas, San Juan and Pasay.
The month of November
highlights many health issues which are the concerns not only of the
government, the Department of Health, the local government units but all the
sectors in the community as a whole.

Commission on Higher Education (CHED) is monitoring some 177 nursing schools in
the country which have not produce a single graduate who pas the nursing
licensure exam in the last five years.
Due to
the spread of leptospirosis cases caused by the non-stop heavy rains, President
Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has ordered the Department of Labor and Employment to
employ more nurses and health workers.
The
Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is now accepting applications for the
second batch of nurses who will be trained and work in rural areas in Eastern Visayas under the government’s program Nurses
Assigned in Rural Services (NARS) program.
Out of the 31 complainants, 7 Filipino nurses had
won the case against recruitment agent SentosaCare LLC filed at the National
Labor Recruitment Commission in Manila.
Philippine

(OFW) about recruitment agencies that are still operating despite having their
license suspended or canceled.
About 30
more Filipino caregivers are set to leave for Japan under the Japan-Philippines economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA), the

The first batch of 27 Filipino nurses that were recently
deployed in Northern Spain (Basque Country) receives a warm welcome by the
Philippine Embassy in Madrid
upon their arrival. Majority of these nurses (15) came from the province of Nueva Vizcaya, while the rest are from
other provinces.
The 2009 CHED
Memorandum No. 14 lists down new requirements that all educational institutions
that offer nursing courses need to comply with. They are given three years
after being issued a permit to complete the requirements.
There are 32,617 new licensed nurses in the Philippines
as the Philippine Regulation Commission (PRC) announced the list of successful examines
of the licensure examination held last June 6 to 7.
